Les Jardins de Mon Coeur

Les Jardins de Mon Coeur (The Gardens of the Heart) invites the viewer to enter into the vibrant corridors of the coronary core. Roots gathered from around the country and carved bone talismans are connected and bound together creating a framework to hold the inset painted images. Thick glass adds reflection—a portal of entry—and yet another dimension of focus and layer of intention. This work first appeared in solo exhibition at the Abel Joseph Gallery, Brussels, Belgium.

“A great composition under glass--truly an important piece of work--invites one to say that things are in no way trivial…In the fluid expressiveness, bedraggled plant life seems to be shifting into some part of a human being. In the compositions of Régent Pellerin there is a sort of magic that belongs to another world and another time than ours.”
Stéphan Rey, L’Echo Brussels, Belgium August (1999)
